FINDING YOU
If you ever went away
I’d be famished as a grizzly bear in heat—
painfully missing your undivided tenderness,
your smile and the look in your eyes
after you get up from your zazen tea,
and see the world for the first time.
I’d be ready, willing and able to walk
ten-thousand miles to bring you back,
or stow away on planes with mysterious
destinations that know where you are.
I would scour every passing cloud,
search under the roots of every tree
and even hitch a ride on a lady bug
that hides in every lady’s underwear
until I find you.
